Happy Love Day

Happy Love Day everyone,

While shopping for Valentine's Day stuffed animals (they're the cutest this time of year!) I found a pack of 8 cards with a rainbow stripped card on the front for cheap so I picked it up and tossed it into my basket without further investigating it because I don't know about you but when you're a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and you see something with rainbows on it; you buy it. When I got home and unpacked my loot I found that on the inside of the card says, "Happy Love Day" and I love that.

I understand that there's a whole story behind why it's called Valentine's Day (This dude named Valentine married people in secret blah blah blah) but I think we should change it to Love Day. Two years ago I wrote a little post about how I think Valentine's Day should be a day we celebrate love in general, not just love with your partner. So many people are unhappy on this day because they aren't in a relationship. I say who cares if you're single; make your mom your Valentine or your sibling or your best friend. Some people call this Galentine or Palentine but let's just combine all three and call it Love Day.

My professor said it well when she emailed us our homework instructions.

"For those of you who are forgetful: don't forget to take care of your Valentine's Day plans. For those of you who don't have any plans: remember that Penelope had to go twenty years without a Valentine's Day celebration. You'll be fine."

If you're familiar with the Odyssey you'll get it.

Totally Ky
