New Year's Resolutions 2018

Happy Tuesday everyone,

This year's post includes a table of contents for all of  2017's published blog posts as it relates to my resolutions.

Let's see how well I did in 2017 on meeting my resolutions.

1. Turn 20 - I had one of the best birthdays this year! My boyfriend to me to the aquarium. It was so great. I've included pictures from the day throughout this post because I think they're cute.

2. Blog more (24 posts) - Yes!
Book Review (12 posts) - I did not always post on time but I did always post so this resolution is checked off. Oh I guess I could have organized this list with January at the top but it's too late now I'm lazy.

3. Read more - According to my calculations, I read 41 books. I don't know how that compares to other years but that's why I did the book reviews so now I can make a more specific resolution for next year.

4. Write more - I definitely should have written more.

5. Do more art - I'm going to make a post with all that I did this year, later.

6. Drink more water - Nope. But that's why it's always a resolution. I'm just so lazy.

7. Keep up with my meds - During the summer my mental health got really bad which forced me to keep on top of my meds. The first half of the year I didn't do well but once summer hit I was on it.

8. Secret resolution code name SNOWMAN - Yes! We've had a lot of ups and downs this year but we're still going strong.

Now here's 2018's resolutions

1. Turn 21 - This will be even more frightening than 20!

2. Drink more water

3. Keep up with my meds

4. Blog twice a month including the book reviews.

5. Book Review - In 2017 I managed to do my book reviews every month so this year I'm gonna challenge myself a little more by posting the book reviews on time. I want to post on the last day of every month. If you look above, most of the reviews were posted at the beginning of the next month so I want to do better about that.

6. Read more - Since I read 41 books I'm going for 50 for next year.

7. On top of reading more, I want to read at least one of the books on this list. Aside from my main bookcase, I have one of those bookcases where it's separated into different shaped and sized compartments and I have it on its side at the head of my bed and one of the cubbies is dedicated to books I have to read and these books clutter them. I have a hard time reading thick books because they intimidate me which is why I didn't read Harry Potter until my Junior year of High School.

  • William Shakespear Complete Plays
  • The Greatest Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  • The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis
  • Flowers in the Attic, Petals on the wind Series by V.C. Andrews (My mom bought this one for me like 5 years ago)
  • Push not the river by James Martin
It's at this point that I decide I should number my resolutions for convenience sake.

8. Write more - I do all of my writing in a journal and the journal I've been using, I've had for a couple years so now I'm starting a fresh journal so I can really track how much I write this year.

9. Journal more - I also want to journal more. When I say I want to write more I mean creative writing and when I say I want to journal more I mean to write about my thoughts and feelings and crap. I had a hard time doing that this year because I wanted to keep journaling out of my creative writing notebook so I had trouble juggling more than one notebook. This year I'm starting a new journal as well as writing notebook so I'm hoping that will sort itself out.

10. DO NOT BUY ANY MORE NOTEBOOKS! - This may be the hardest resolution I have ever done as I have no self-control over buying notebooks and I absolutely do not need anymore.

11. Create more art - I painted more this year than I ever have but there's always room for more... Well... Maybe not on my wall. I got a lot of painting supplies for Christmas so I have my work cut out for me.

12. Year in pixel - I started doing this project last April where I color in a square each day that symbolizes how my day went. This time around I want to do the full year.

13. Codename Snowman - A little less secret this coming year it is the same as last year.

Totally Ky

P.S On my birthday we also went to the bookstore and there was a cat named Nemo and I got to pet him! He was not impressed by me, in fact, he licked himself the entire time I pet him, but I was sure impressed by him!
