Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Tuesday everyone it's not Tuesday but it is Valentine's Day so happy day before the chocolate goes on sale day! The best part about the holidays is when the treats go on sale afterward.

So you may remember some posts ago when I read through my wishes from 2014 one that came up was "fall in love and stay in love". I didn't elaborate on it because I wanted to write a full post on the topic of love and what better day to do it than Valentine's Day.

Before I go into what I wanted to talk about as far as the whole love thing goes I want to talk a little bit about Valentines Day.

I have been both single and in a relationship during Valentine's day. (This year I'm taken. This is a
picture of my boyfriend and I. His name is Jake.) I've always thought it was weird when single people are really depressed during Valentine's Day. I think this is because I associate Valentine's Day less with the love you have with a partner and more with just love in general. I love my family, I love my friends. So it's never made me sad that I wasn't with a partner because why not just celebrate a different kind of love. Platonic love! I remembered the word and I'm so happy.

This year I've organized a "Single Ladies Day" with friends because why should we stay at home on Valentines Day just because we're single? That's not how my squad rolls. We're gonna go out and have some fun. (I'm posting this before we actually go on our Single Ladies Date so that picture is from a different outing.

So anyway about the whole love thing. This also has a bit to do with ageism. People think because "We are young!" that we have never been in love. This bugs me because in my opinion and experience there isn't just one kind of love. There are millions. I love nachos and babies. I don't want a committed relationship with either. Therefore that right there is a different kind of love. We love our family. We love our friends. No, we aren't IN love with them. But that should prove that there are different kinds of love. So when a little kid tells me they've been in love I believe them. I don't think we just love that one person who we're meant to be with if such a person even exists. I think as human beings we have the capacity to love many and love a lot. We aren't the Grinch. Our hearts aren't two sizes too small.

Until next time,
Totally Ky
